The short version

• This website has no contact form, no user accounts and no online shop. It does not ask you for personal information directly.
• The two ways information leaves your browser are Google Analytics (anonymous traffic statistics) and Calendly (when you choose to book a consultation).
• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
• You can block analytics tracking without losing any functionality of this site.

Information we collect

1. Anonymous analytics data

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and which links they click. This records things like your approximate location (city level), the device and browser you used, which page referred you, and how long you spent on a page.

This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Google may set cookies in your browser for this purpose. You can opt out at any time by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by enabling "Do Not Track" or tracking protection in your browser, or by blocking cookies from this site in your browser settings.

2. Information you give us when you book

Booking a consultation is handled by Calendly, which is embedded on our Book Now page. If you use it, Calendly asks for your name, email address, and any details you choose to add about your appointment.

Calendly is a separate company with its own privacy policy, available at calendly.com/privacy. We receive the booking details you submit so we can prepare for your appointment. We use that information only to provide the service you asked for.

3. Information you send us directly

If you email us at brokenhearttattoo.CS@gmail.com or call the studio on (619) 237-0058, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and so we have a record of your booking. If you send reference images for a tattoo design, we keep them for the duration of the work and for our portfolio records.

4. Information collected by third-party embeds

This site links out to, and in one case embeds, services operated by other companies. When you interact with them, their own privacy policies apply:

• Google - Analytics, Tag Manager, Google Business Profile and Maps
• Calendly - appointment booking
• Yelp - our public business listing and reviews
• Meta - Facebook and Instagram

The Google Maps directions links on this site open Google Maps in a new tab. The Calendly booking widget is embedded directly in our Book Now page, which means Calendly will set its own cookies there.

How we use information

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare for your appointment.
• To understand which parts of the website are useful, so we can improve them.
• To keep records of bookings and design work.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Cookies

This site itself does not set cookies for its own purposes. Cookies may be set by Google Analytics and, on the Book Now page, by Calendly. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and the site will continue to work normally.

How long we keep information

• Analytics data: retained by Google according to our account settings, typically up to 14 months.
• Booking information: kept for as long as needed to provide the service, plus any period required for tax and accounting records.
• Design references and tattoo records: kept for our portfolio and for future sessions or touch-ups.
• Email and phone correspondence: kept while it remains relevant to an ongoing or recent client relationship.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent you previously gave, at any time.

California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

To exercise any of these rights, email brokenhearttattoo.CS@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

How we protect information

This website is served over HTTPS, so information you send through it is encrypted in transit. Access to booking and client records is limited to studio staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to be tattooed in California, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and revise the "last reviewed" date above. Material changes will be described on this page.
